Lunch with Playhouse Disney
PASSED OUT!

Gavin didn't nap on a normal schedule. So one afternoon we went back to the room to get changed for dinner, and he was running all over the room, yelling, laughing, etc... I had to separate him from the other kids. He hid under the sleeping bag and was crawling on the floor. I ignored him, and then went to talk to him, and realized he was passed out on the floor!

My Little Gavin
We had a little scare with Gavin this week. Well, I guess "a little scare" is an understatement, however. Gavin had gotten up a little later, so he was still in his jammies and in the playroom. Justin and Brandon already went off to school, Gavin was upset since he didn't see his brother's off to school that morning. I went upstairs to get him his clothes, but I got side-tracked, came down stairs without his cloths. He was sitting at the kitchen table playing with his cars. I then went back upstairs to get his cloths (again), I came downstairs and he was gone from the kitchen! I figured he was in the playroom, nothing, I looked under the desk, the bathroom shower, my room, the pantry, etc...I ran upstairs frantic at this point yelling his name out. Nothing! He was not upstairs anywhere either. I called 911! I took Nicholas and ran outside, screaming his name outside down the road - nothing. My neighbor helped me look by the lagoon edge - nothing. I called John, who was up in Carteret, and he flew down the parkway to get here. I called Jeanette and she was out the door in a flash heading over here!
Meanwhile, as I hear the sirens approaching, I staring out the front door to wait for the police, and I hear a little voice behind me, "I hiding." I said, "OMG Gavin where were you?" "He said I hiding in the crawlspace!" I scooped him up and ran outside to the police - which were five police cars! I ran down the driveway, saying I got him! Everyone was relieved! They asked if he was ok and if I was ok! I said, he's fine, I might need help at this point! I felt bad that they had to come out and I kept thanking them, but it was better to be safe than sorry! I owe the Brick police a big thank you!
Now our mission is to get a door alarm for the doors!

My Two Patients
Well, this week started off a bit crazy. It started with John going to the hospital Saturday night/Sunday morning with his stomach problems. Now I know why men don't give birth! They have no pain tollerance! No, he really was in pain though, and I wound up calling an ambulance to take him to the hospital. After an I.V. of a Nexium type drug, blood work, and an ultrasound, he was released around midday on Sunday. It was an attack of his reflux! He's back to normal today!
My Nicholas got hurt last night. After giving the kids their baths (the little ones), John takes Nicholas upstairs to get started on the rest of the night time routine, while I finished up with Gavin. All of the sudden, I hear screaming, and John calling my name, I ran through the living room and started heading upstairs, when John started down the stairs carrying Nicholas with blood all over his face, and a big gash on his forehead. We put a towel on his head and ice, but it wouldn't stop bleeding. John had me call 911 to get an ambulance. The police arrived, along with the EMS. Just as this was all happening, I had a mother from the school stopping over to pick up Kidstuff books that she bought - nice! Anyway, the EMS people looked at him, and the bleeding stopped finally. So we opted not to take him to the hospital, since it would be less traumatic that way. He stayed up for a little bit so we could keep a watch on him.
He's doing better today - I kept him home from pre-k to be on the safe side.
As I always say, "there's no peace!"

Happy Birthday To Me!

It's my birthday today, September 13! I don't feel like a year went by already, but it did. Me, MaryTara, Lisa and Jeannie went out last night (9/12) for some drinks to celebrate my birthday. Due to the pouring rain, and I mean pouring rain, we did not go to the Tiki Bar, we went next door to Jenk's. It was free to get in and was not too crowded, considering the weather. They had a band, Bitter X, which played great music and a DJ too.
Is anyone noticing the beads yet??? Why do I have beads around my neck, it's not marti gras! Well long story short, a guy with a clipboard walking around asked each of us to sign up for the band mailing list, when you started writing your name, he put a necklace around your neck. Then the girls decided to put them all around my neck since it was my birthday.
The singer of Bitter X asked if anyone was celebrating a birthday, and of course, Lisa says "It's Wendy's Birthday!" So he said happy birthday to me, :-) and everyone else that had a birthday too.
Isabelle, Nicholas and Gavin
Gavin had to get in on the act too, so he would feel like he was a part of everything. The kids did great going in with their teacher. Isabelle was so cute with her little outfit on and hair all done up. Nicholas was asked to keep an eye on Isabelle, but he didn't need to, she did great. Nicholas is an old-pro at this stuff now.

Nicholas' First Day of Pre-K - PLC
Nicholas' first day of Pre-K at the Primary Learning Center. This is his second year. This time he is going from 10:30-12:30 (thank goodness!). It's a lot less pressure for me, then trying to cram everyone in the truck for 8:10 to rush to the school for 8:30. Especially with Brandon's cranky bus driver and aide, she would never agree to meet me anyplace else (like last year's bus driver did). Next year he starts kindergarten and rides the bus!

Making Sand Castles
Surfer Guy
You Gotta Love Nicholas & his "Surfing Gear"
When Nicholas found out that we were doing the POAC surfer's night again, he said he needed to get a surf board and a surfing suite. After being extremely persistent, John took him to Sports Authority to look at wet suits. They came home with the wet suite and the boogy board, which he says is his "surf board!" He is a unique child!
Justin & Nicholas
We took Justin to Jenkinson's Aquarium for his 10th birthday. He had a bunch of his friends meet us there. They really did a nice job with the party, and it was well organized (which I like). After the party, we went to eat (rip off!) on the boardwalk and play some games. We then came home and Justin opened up his gifts from us and his friends.
